MIKEY ”Suspence3000beats “ SPENCE – DRUMMER/PRODUCER/SONG WRITER

I have worked with many people in my career, including:

- Home-T, Shabba Ranks, Cocoa-T, Sanchez, Brian & Tony Gold, Garnet Silk, Caron Wheeler, Jamal-Ski, Redd Foxx, The Tavares, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Pappa San, Lady G, Foundation, Half Pint, Beenie Man, Buju Banton, Tony Rebel, Doug E Fresh, Vicious, Shyheim, Heavy D, Mad Cobra, Dillinger, Little John, Barrington Levy, Professor Nuts, World A Girls, Barry Boom, Maxi Priest, Carlene Davis, Chevelle Franklyn, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Wayne Wonder, Jamali, Admiral Bailey, Junior Tucker, Luciano, Little Lenny, Freddie McGregor, Ninja Man, Lady Saw, Kymani Marley, Third World, Junior Reid, Admiral Tibet and Black Uhuru.
- I was born in Jamaica and started playing the guitar at a very young age. I later switched to drums when I had a chance to try them out at a church camp. By the end of the week, I was invited to play at the banquet. I continued to play drums throughout high school and performed at school concerts.
- After high school, I went to the Jamaica School of Music in Kingston where I met some of the top musicians and artists of that time in Jamaica.
- A chain of pastry stores in Jamaica called Tastee’s organized a series of talent competitions for local artists. These competitions launched the careers of many successful artists such as Yellowman, Brian & Tony Gold, Papa San and Nadine Sutherland. I played drums in the band (Tempo) that backed some of these competitions.
- I joined Home-T while still at the Jamaica School of Music. This was when I got my first experience working in the recording studios as a musician and music producer. I worked with some of the great reggae producers such as Mikey Bennett and King Jammy's at studios like King Jammy's Penthouse Studios Jack Scorpio Studios Bobby Digital and Music Works.
- This gave me exposure to the rich and vibrant music scene of Jamaica.

I devoted myself to productions and touring after graduating from Jamaica School Of Music. I joined the production crew of Mikey Bennett, Patrick "Shadows" Lindsey and Miles Mussenden, known as ‘2 Friends’. We produced songs for Maxi Priest, Caron Wheeler, Chevelle Franklyn, P.O.V (the son of Robert Kool from Kool & the Gang), and IPSO Factor (Prince’s protégés) on his label in Minnesota.

In Miami, Florida, I was managed by Specialist (Shang Records) and recorded soundtracks for the movie ‘Klash’, starring Jasmine Guy. I also worked on tracks for Kymani Marley’s debut album.
